Boosting growth and productivity: The role of human capital
Against the backdrop of challenges posed by the green transition and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, the skills, education and adaptability of the workforce have become more critical than ever.
These issues will be central to discussions during the 2024 Annual Conference of the Global Forum on Productivity, which will be organised by the OECD, the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry and France Stratégie on 15-16 October in Paris.
The Global Forum on Productivity conference will bring together senior policymakers, experts and academics to help identify actionable recommendations to navigate the changing landscape of work and productivity in the post-pandemic world, consider potential solutions to address the skills gap, and boost productivity.
The event launches with an Opening Ceremony at 10:00 CEST on Tuesday, 15 October featuring OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and French Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry Antoine Armand.
The agenda will include discussions on:
- Explaining the productivity slowdown: human capital and other factors. Facts, conclusions, recommendations and actions.
- Investing in the "right" skills: the role of training and education policies in driving productivity.
- The green transition: opportunity or risk for productivity?
- Will Artificial Intelligence rescue us from the productivity slowdown?
- Human capital, productivity and inclusiveness: sharing the benefits of productivity growth.
Media are invited to all sessions of the two-day event.
The Global Forum will be webcast live to the public, in English and French, without registration at the following links:
