SSES 2023 Database

These questionnaires were administered to students, teachers, and school principals in all sites. Parents were also surveyed in nine sites as this was made optional in SSES 2023. Two versions of the student questionnaire are available, one for the older cohort (15-year-olds) and one for the younger cohort (10-year-olds). Note that surveying 10-year-olds was optional in SSES 2023 and six sites opted to survey this cohort.

SSES consisted of an assessment of students’ social and emotional skills and contextual questions. Students completed the assessment and contextual questions, while teachers, school principals and parents provided contextual data regarding the sampled students and schools. There are four main datasets, each of which contains data collected from the online platform, derived variables, weights and scores wherever applicable.
