This workshop gathered key stakeholders from the urban transport sector in Ulaanbaatar and Mongolia to have an initial discussion on the national roadmap study for Ulaanbaatar. At the workshop, ITF experts shared the ITF's approach to developing decarbonising pathways for urban passenger transport. ITF representatives introduced general principles of modelling theory and supporting data collection, ensured a common understanding of key concepts, capacities and limitations of the ITF approach and showcased practical examples to identify potential outputs for Ulaanbaatar. It was a part of the Sustainable Infrastructure Programme in Asia (SIPA), funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection through the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
