This year’s annual meeting of the Technical Assistance Project on Financial Education in the Constituency Programme of the Netherlands’ Ministry of Finance is organised jointly with Montenegro’s Ministry of Finance, Central Bank of Montenegro, Capital Markets Authority and Insurance Supervision Agency of Montenegro. The meeting’s overarching theme is stakeholder co-operation for effective financial education.
Sessions include panels and presentations from prominent speakers on :
- financial education for young people,
- strategies to inform and protect consumers from financial frauds and scams,
- enhancing the financial literacy of vulnerable groups,
- collaboration for successful implementation of financial education programmes,
and a tour de table on emerging regional challenges for financial consumers and financial education progress in project countries.
A joint session with the Second International Conference Financial Markets in Montenegro will focus on financial education and capital markets.
This event promotes dialogue and knowledge-sharing among policymakers (representatives from Ministries of Finance, of Education, and financial supervisory authorities), academia, NGOs and the private sector, to encourage collaboration across organisations and to foster the development and dissemination of good practices in financial education and financial consumer protection.
The annual meeting will be followed by a peer learning workshop about behavioural insights for financial consumer empowerment, led by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.
