The OECD is convening the international community of mission decision-makers and practitioners to discuss and share experiences on how to design, govern, implement, and evaluate mission-oriented policies. This conference is the first ever event to bring together such a comprehensive panel of mission owners, practitioners, and selected renowned academics. The over 130 participants registered represent 40 unique mission-oriented initiatives/organisations in 23 countries, and 41 unique missions in a wide range of challenge areas.
After five years of work on mission-oriented innovation policies (MOIPs) by the OECD Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation under the aegis of its Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy (CSTP), the conference represents a pivotal moment to review achievements, identify remaining challenges, and guide our work at the OECD on mission-oriented policies moving forward. Our work also benefits from collaborating across the OECD through the Mission Action Lab, in close cooperation with mission managers around the world to support their experimentation on mission-oriented policies.
This conference is supported by the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Forschung, BMBWF). It is held at the Austria Trend Hotel Savoyen Vienna (Rennweg 16, 1030 Vienna).
