Western Balkans Competitiveness Outlook: Bosnia and Herzegovina In-Country Launch

The final in-country launch events of the Western Balkans Competitiveness Outlook 2024 took place on November 4 and 6 in Banja Luka and Sarajevo, introducing the Bosnia and Herzegovina Profile. Both events brought together over 150 participants combined, including high-level ministerial representation. The OECD team provided a brief overview of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s key policy achievements and challenges across five policy clusters: (1) infrastructure and connectivity, (2) skills, (3) business environment, (4) digital transformation and (5) greening, which were followed by tailored policy recommendations and complementary OECD standards and tools most relevant to the economy’s context.

A dedicated session held during the Sarajevo event on 6 November provided a deep dive into policies affecting the business environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a particular emphasis on the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH). It highlighted the main trends and shared recommendations and guidelines, including OECD/EU best practices, to address these challenges.
