This workshop will bring together women entrepreneurs, programme managers and policy makers to discuss measures and initiatives that have strong potential for increasing the participation of women entrepreneurs in global supply chains. The workshop aims to promote awareness and understanding of challenges to women’s participation in global supply chains, including financing, government regulation, education and skills, and discrimination. The discussion will explore best practices from public and private sector initiatives to support women-owned businesses participation in global trade and will raise awareness about tools and resources available to women entrepreneurs for exporting their products to global markets.
This workshop builds on the work of the OECD Committee for SMEs and Entrepreneurship (CSMEE) related to supporting women entrepreneurs and the participation of entrepreneurs and SMEs in global supply chains. It also supports U.S. Mission to the OECD (USOECD)’s efforts to share OECD data analysis, research, and tools with the American people and to support the interagency in developing and implementing policies that enhance women’s economic empowerment and participation in global supply chains and trade through skills development, financing, and networks. USOECD has worked with the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Global Women’s Issue (S/GWI) and the OECD Secretariat to advance OECD work on gender-disaggregated data, workplace discrimination, and global trade.
This workshop is a hybrid event. For onsite registration, we kindly ask you to contact the OECD Secretariat at CSMEE@mail.oecd.org. For online participation, please register here.
