Civil society is a key actor in the implementation of the SDGs. Yet it faces ever-growing challenges that prevent it from maximising its contribution to development and democracy. The DAC Recommendation on Enabling Civil Society commits to further advancing DAC member policies and practices to support civil society and protect civic space, at home as well as in partner countries.
