This report analyses the role of push and pull factors in ensuring longer-term and more stable capital flows to Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs), with a focus on the resilience of portfolio flows to global shocks in the post-Global Financial Crisis period. It also discusses the drivers of investment allocation towards green sectors in EMDEs. It was prepared as an input for the discussions of the G20 International Financial Architecture Working Group in 2024.
