This report would not have been possible without the sustained and in-depth engagement of the Development Assistance Committee membership, including the members who provided funding (Canada, Hungary, and the United States), the three DAC peer learning case studies (Canada, Ireland, Switzerland) and the peer learning facilitators for the partner countries studies (Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States). The learning exercise built across the OECD Development Co-operation Directorate’s expertise. The exercise was co-ordinated by Renwick Irvine and Joëlline Bénéfice, with support from Soon Yeol Chung, Anjeza Llulla, and Jenny Baracaldo Fernández, under the leadership of Rahul Malhotra (Head of the Reforms and Partnerships for Development Impact Division), Mayumi Endoh (Deputy Director) and Pilar Garrido (Director). Emily Bosh and Hector Moreno provided analytical and statistical support. The team benefited from insights and support from teams across the directorate; Peer Reviews; Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Ocean; Development Effectiveness; Civil Society; Triangular Co-operation; Results; Evaluation; Governance and Anti-corruption; Crisis, Conflict and Fragility; Statistical Standards and Methods; Innovation; Gender equality; as well as the Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN).
The research team leading the research and drafting of the synthesis report comprised the Share Trust: Sarah Selby (lead author), Rose Pinnington (lead author), and Courtenay Cabot Venton, in collaboration with Warande Advisory Centre, ODI, Epic Africa, and researchers Elshaday Kifle Woldeyesus, Anita Ghimire, Heidi Abuchaibe, and María Fernández from the three country case studies.
Throughout the peer learning process, a sounding board ensured diverse perspectives framed and informed the reflection; provided expert advice, review and overall guidance on overall plans, methodology and outputs; and ensured the peer learning achieved its objectives and met the needs of stakeholders. The Sounding Board included representatives from the Aga Khan Foundation; BRAC Bangladesh; Global Affairs Canada (Meaghan Gallant); Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland (Elisa Cavacece), Switzerland (Lorenz Kammermann), Ecoweb; King's College London (Maia King); Peace Direct (Dylan Matthews); USAID (Kathryne Tenney and Rachel Leeds); and Warande Advisory Centre (Chilande Kuloba-Warria).
