In addition to its global policy work, the OECD works with countries and regions to implement financial consumer protection and financial literacy policies and frameworks. Such projects are tailored to the needs and circumstances of different countries and regions and include:
- Working with countries to develop, implement and evaluate national and/or targeted strategies for financial literacy/inclusion, financial literacy programmes and campaigns, and undertake data collection on financial literacy levels in accordance with the OECD Recommendation on Financial Literacy.
- Undertaking technical assessments of the financial consumer protection framework of a country or organisation against the High-Level Principles on Financial Consumer Protection, to identify gaps and areas for improvement. This brochure provides more information about the process and expected outcomes.
