The OECD is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the Research and Innovation Careers Observatory (ReICO), a joint initiative with the European Commission, co-funded by the Horizon Europe programme. ReICO is set to become a key resource for tracking and understanding the dynamics of research and innovation careers across OECD and EU countries.
The funding agreement on ReICO will be signed during a European Research Area conference on Thursday, 19 September, 9:30am to 10:00am CEST between Jerry Sheehan, Director of the Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation and Anna Panagopoulou, Director for ERA & Innovation at the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation at the European Commission.
Journalists are invited to follow the signature ceremony here: https://www.inspiring-era.eu/event/stakeholder-conference-on-the-european-research-area/ .
ReICO aims to bridge critical data gaps, offering reliable, up-to-date insights to help policymakers, research organisations, and researchers foster stronger, more sustainable, and diverse research and innovation environments. By enhancing understanding of career trajectories, ReICO will support the development and retention of research talent within OECD and EU countries.
For further information, journalists are invited to contact Elisabeth Schoeffmann in the OECD Media Office (+33 1 45 24 97 00).
Working with over 100 countries, the OECD is a global policy forum that promotes policies to preserve individual liberty and improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.
