Two new OECD reports to be published on Thursday, 21 November provide internationally comparable statistics and analysis designed to inform the tax policy debate:
Revenue Statistics 2024 provides data on government tax revenues from 1965 onwards, including the tax-to-GDP ratio, revenues collected by central, state and regional governments, and the relative importance of personal and corporate income tax, social security contributions and taxes on goods and services in the tax mix. This year’s edition includes a special feature which examines health taxes in OECD countries.
Consumption Tax Trends 2024 presents cross-country detailed comparative data on consumption tax rates, tax bases and design trends in OECD countries. It describes a range of other consumption taxation provisions on tobacco, alcoholic beverages, motor vehicles and aviation fuels.
