Finance and Investment for Industry Decarbonisation

In order to reduce the risks associated with many needed low-carbon technologies, scaling up finance from both public and private financial sources will be crucial. OECD’s new Framework is a step-by-step approach to assist EMDEs in designing solutions for financing and to improve the enabling conditions that can accelerate industry’s transition.

The paper examines financing solutions to accelerate investments in industrial decarbonisation, particularly in EMDEs. It emphasises the use of de-risking strategies, financial instruments, and innovative models to boost investment, as well as case studies to illustrate how private capital can be mobilised effectively.
